Glenn Wilson

Coach Glenn Wilson has been involved in fitness education and coaching for more than two decades.  He has coached swimmers, runners, and triathletes in Canada, the U.S., Bermuda, and a few unusual locales.  He has had several athletes go to the Olympics and world championships.

Glenn Wilson left Canada at the age of seventeen to swim and attend university in the United States where he both competed and won awards for coaching. He had success at the high school and college levels.

 

While pursuing graduate work in exercise physiology, Coach Wilson was recruited to coach the National Team in Bermuda.  While there he started the first Masters Swim Team and Triathlon Team.

  

Some of his athletes in cycling, running and swimming have represented Bermuda in Olympic, Caribbean, International and World Championship events.  He was invited to assist in coaching with the U.S. National Women's Team at the University of Miami.

 

Always seeking to improve his own performances, Wilson has completed over 200 triathlons at every distance, including international and world championships.

   

After returning to his home town of Edmonton, he decided to settle down.  He has taught biology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics and physical education at every grade level from grade one to second year university - but reports that his present assignment at Leo Nickerson Elementary School to be the job that makes Monday mornings wonderful to look forward to. Glenn Wilson is now the past president of Alberta's Health and Physical Education Council, an executive with the St. Albert Phys. Ed. Council, the head coach of the St. Albert Sailfish and the head coach for the Gators Triathlon Club
